Checks overlapping cues, too short or too long on screen, reading speed, line width, line count, awkward line breaks, numbering, empty cues, mojibake and control characters. Width and reading speed follow the writing system: Chinese is measured in full-width characters, Thai and Arabic combining marks count as zero width. Language-specific rules cover the Spanish opening ¿, the French non-breaking space before ? ! ; :, the Greek question mark, full-width punctuation in Chinese and Japanese, and the Arabic question mark and comma. Auto-fixable items are listed separately, and anything that moves timecodes is unchecked by default.
