What this tool does
Translates subtitles from one language into another and exports a ready-to-use subtitle file. Typical needs:
- Foreign-language video with Chinese subtitles, or Chinese content with foreign subtitles
- Bilingual subtitles with the original or the translation on top
- Consistent translations of names across a whole season (glossary)
- Fine-tune the timeline after translating (overall shift, proportional scaling)
Upload subtitles
Click "Choose subtitle file" or paste subtitle text straight into the left input box. Six formats are supported: SRT, VTT, ASS, SSA, SBV and TXT. No file at hand? Click "Load sample" to see it in action. Once parsed, the middle column shows a subtitle table with an index, timeline and source text for each entry.

Choose language and style
"Source language" can stay on auto-detect; the "target language" is picked from 100 languages. Five translation styles are available: Balanced (default), Conversational, Formal professional, Dub-style and Custom. "Dub-style" suits film and TV dialogue; "Formal professional" suits documentaries and courses.

Glossary: keep names consistent
The AI translates in batches, so the same name may come out two different ways in different batches. Write "source → must be translated as" rules into the glossary; before each batch the tool scans it and follows every match. One rule per line; arrows can be `->`, `=>`, `→` or Tab; a lone source term means keep it untranslated; several spellings can share one rendering via `|`. Click "✨ AI extract" to have the AI pull the proper nouns from the video into the table first, then edit and translate.

The translation process
Click "▶ Start translation" in the top bar. The middle stats strip shows entries, translated, filler cleared and cross-entry sentence groups in real time; the progress bar shows the estimated time left and tokens used. While translating, click any translation cell in the table to edit the text — changes are stored on your machine and survive a refresh. Close the page mid-run and you will be offered to resume where it left off. When one sentence spans several entries, the group is merged, translated and refilled by duration.

Export
In the right column pick the content form first: translation only (monolingual), bilingual with the original on top, or bilingual with the translation on top; then the file format: SRT, WebVTT, SBV, ASS or TXT. Picking ASS adds two layouts: split top/bottom screens and stacked bottom lines. Content and format combine freely into 14 export styles. Bilingual line width is set separately. Click "Download subtitles" to save the file, or "Copy to clipboard" to paste it straight away.

Cost and privacy
The default model needs no sign-up and no key — it works out of the box with per-request quotas: a daily cap per IP plus a site-wide daily allowance. For large batches, enter your own API key under "Translation engine". Privacy, per the on-page notice: subtitles for the default model are relayed through this site's server to the provider; a custom API is handled directly by the provider you enter, and the key stays in your browser. Parsing, line wrapping and bilingual layout all run locally in the browser.
FAQ
Other languages mixed into the translation? The tool detects language drift and re-translates automatically; if a few entries still look wrong, click the cell and fix them by hand.
What about lyric lines? "Content filtering" offers three options for lyrics: translate the lyrics, keep the original or delete them.
Inconsistent translations of names? Add the inconsistent spellings to the glossary and translate again; the glossary takes priority over the global "proper-noun handling" setting.
Want English on top and Chinese below? Pick "Bilingual · original on top" when exporting; for Chinese on top and English below, pick "Bilingual · translation on top".
