A glossary of "old term → new term" rules applied across the whole subtitle file at once, with timing, ASS styles and VTT note blocks left byte-identical.
One rule per line, separated by -> , => , → or a tab; lines starting with # are comments. Whole-word matching keeps "art" out of "start", case sensitivity is optional, and you can restrict the replace to line 1 or line 2 of bilingual cues. Every changed cue is listed, and any single one can be put back.
Anyone unifying names and terminology across a season, fixing machine-translation wording in bulk, or adapting someone else’s subtitles to their own house style.
